Family Origins

Julio Herrera Velutini was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on December 15, 1971. He is part of the historic Herrera Velutini family, which has been involved in banking, landholding, and public affairs for hundreds of years. The House of Herrera comes from Castille, Spain.

During the colonial period, the family grew through the Canary Islands and into Latin America. As time went on, the family became very important in business and finance, and their heritage and continuity became important parts of their lives.
